A blue jewellery box stands atop a plexiglas sheet that is also blue, over a piece of blue cardstock that is equal in size and a smaller white sheet of paper, set down in the area corresponding to the corner of the opening of the lids of the box. A square drawn in pencil in part on the white sheet and in part on the blue cardboard recalls the profile of the same white sheet in an upright position.
The empty box and the tautological repetition of the other elements enhance the void or the silence of the "wordless" scene suggested by the title.
The same theme was developed in two later variants, made in 1990 (GPO-0663) and in 1994 (GPO-0726), as well as in a later version, conceived in 2006 (GPO-0928).
