A blue jewellery box is arranged in an open position on a blue plexiglas sheet, set down on a piece of blue cardstock of the same size. The angle at which the box is opened is materialized by the cut-out of a circular section of a star chart applied to blue cardstock, so that the stars assume the value of the precious contents that have come out of the box.
The open box and its contents which escapes any attempt at appropriation enhance the void or the "silence" of the scene suggested by the title.
The same theme was developed in two later variants, made in 1990 (GPO-0663) and in 1994 (GPO-0726), as well as in a later version, conceived in 2006 (GPO-0928).
