Two for One

Inside the case two identical framed photographs are placed close together so that they face each other, with a small space between them. The two images reproduce a drawing by Antonio Canova, representing a male figure in a pensive mood. Over the photographs a collage of paper elements scatters the details of the reproduction of a sculpture, also by Canova, and several blank sheets with rectangles outlined on them; over the glass of the frame other rectangles echo the paper ones.
The haphazard ensemble of photographic details and drawn rectangles seems to reflect the thoughts of the two pensive figures, who through their vis-à-vis, question the very possibility that a work can be created: hence the title Two for One, by means of which the artist seeks to place together two identical elements that pave the way to a single artwork.
