Nine framed elements are arranged on a wall: two are placed adjacent to each other at the top, while the other seven tumble down in random order. The two elements at the top propose the vis-à-vis of two female figures in antique costumes, leaning up against the shaft of a column (placed upside down to each other like in the work Caleidoscopio, 1976, GPO-0323).
In the artist’s own words: “The two figures are identified by the title as Commozione (Commotion) and Ispirazione (Inspiration), respectively. The former turns its gaze towards the globe at its feet, while the latter withholds the surface of a painting as it looks upwards. Commozione thus participates in the affairs of the world, while Ispirazione awaits the arrival of a new image. Both of them are situated on the horizon line of a perspectival drawing, while further down the drawing is broken up in fragments, oblivious to its original order”.1
