The perspective made in pencil on the assemblage of three sheets placed at short intervals is inhabited by a cut-out figure of Jean-Antoine Watteau's L’Indifférent. The collage of torn fragments, scattered starting from the actor's eyes "in tears", disseminates on the three sheets the remaining part of the reproduction of the eighteenth-century painting.
The title – the artist explains – expresses the emotion of the figure at the moment of his entrance onto the scene in the illusory space of the representation.
